You have the opportunity to change your benefit decisions during the 2027 Open Enrollment period, which takes place October 19 through November 6. Decisions that you make will take effect January 1, 2027.
Every year, Open Enrollment is ACTIVE for Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, and Voluntary Benefits. This means if you are currently enrolled in a Medical plan through White Castle, you MUST re-enroll during this Open Enrollment period.
Please also make sure your dependents and beneficiaries are up to date.
UPCOMING CHANGES
Tobacco Surcharge: The way the tobacco discount is applied will change. If you or your covered spouse is a tobacco user, an additional $100 per month will be charged for each tobacco user. For example:
- If you are a tobacco user and your covered spouse is not a tobacco user, you will be charged an additional $100 per month.
- If you are a tobacco user and your covered spouse is also a tobacco user, you will be charged an additional $200 per month ($100 for each tobacco user).
- If neither you nor your covered spouse uses tobacco, there will be no tobacco surcharge.
NEW: Well-Being Coaching Through Guidance Resources Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Guidance Resources, will now offer Well-Being Coaching. Team members can receive three telephone coaching sessions per year to support their mental and physical well-being. Coaching can provide guidance on topics such as mental health, physical health, stress management, healthy habits, and more.
As we approach Open Enrollment, we want to make you aware of some important upcoming changes to your benefits, effective January 1, 2027.
NEW: White Castle is offering a traditional Dental plan through MetLife.
NEW: White Castle is offering a traditional Vision plan through VSP Vision.
NEW: Pet Insurance Through Fetch Protect your furry family members with Pet Insurance through Fetch. As a White Castle team member, you will receive a 10% discount on your pet insurance coverage.
NEW: Automatic Claims Filing If you are enrolled in the UnitedHealthcare Health Plan and Prudential Voluntary Benefits, eligible claims will be automatically filed, making the claims process easier and more convenient. You may also be eligible for up to $75 in reimbursement for wellness visits.
NEW: Supplemental Life Insurance Open Enrollment Prudential will offer a one-time Open Enrollment opportunity for supplemental life insurance coverage. You may elect coverage for: • Yourself • Your spouse • Your covered dependents Coverage will be available up to the guaranteed issue amount without Evidence of Insurability.
