COMMUTER BENEFITS

Commuter
A Commuter Flexible Spending Account (Commuter FSA) is a pre-tax benefit account used to pay for qualified parking and public transit expenses related to work. You set up a regular monthly pre-tax amount from your paycheck to your Commuter FSA. Funds will be available on a debit card provided by Optum Bank for you to use for eligible transit and parking expenses.
The Basics:
A commuter benefit program allows team members to set aside money in a tax-free account to cover workplace commute expenses, including mass transit and parking. Participants can save an average of 30-40% on these costs, depending on their tax bracket. Cash reimbursements are no longer permitted for transit claims; however, unused commuter funds conveniently roll over from month to month and year to year, ensuring continued savings and flexibility.
Eligible Transit & Parking Expenses:
- Buses
- Trains & subways
- Ferries
- Vanpools
- Commuter highway vehicles
